In my opinion, I believe war is never justified. I believe this because war just brings more disturbance and chaos to the whole world. If this happens, war will be the first decision on a country's mind for every country of the world and this will become very perilous times. Peace is much more important to the world than war because it brings unity to everyone. With this, there will be fewer problems than if war happened all the time and everyone will live in a safe harmless society.
I believe that there is one case when war is justified. The one time you should ever go to war is if you were just attacked severly by another country and they killed your people. This is only justified, because it is probably the only way to make your point across. I agree with Caleb that peace is more important, but is that really going to fix the problem you have with this other country if they already have decided to attack you? Probably not and this could cause even more disruption between your country and theirs.
I dissagree with caleb that war is never justified. In my opinion if another country is threating you then you have to do something to stop it. You can't just leave it because it will only get worse. War is a terrible thing but if it means it could save lives of people then it should be done. War is a terrible thing and should be used as a last resourtto stop other countries from interfearing with the well of another country.
I agree with Caleb, war can't be justified on any levels. This is because war is caused by the fact that people have a need for power. Another reason war can't be justified is because even if there is an overall righteous cause for fighting there are always some ulterior motive, some hidden agenda that the government has. Peace is much a better war.
i agree with sam that war is only justified when it's in the defence of one's country. However, i do not believe that it's the only way to get your point across. War should never be the first decision a country makes. In order for a country to be at peace it needs to have a response that's calm and controled. War is the exact opposite, which is why it should never be a plan A. War is form of destruction but what a country needs when it has been attacked is form of rebuilding. Peace and diplomicy should always be a primary responce.
Also if a country is attacked they then are already at war the violence has already happened and will most likely continue. however in just about any case like a threat for example then by going to war in a sense you are throwing the first punch and are almost guaranteed retaliation to a potentially illegitimate threat
I think that war is never justified. There is never a strong enough reason to kill other people. It is horrible that people think going to war will solve problems because by just seeing who can kill more people doesn't solve anything, it just proves who has a better army. Also, people in war are just killing random people from their opponents. They don't know who these people are and they still want them to die. Just because they are from a country they are in a dissagreement with doesn't mean they deserve to die. I dissagree with Sam that war might be the only way to get your point across because there are definitely better ways. If a country has been attacked they should find a different way to defend themselves.
It is my thoughts that war is justified in different circumstances and war is waged for different reasons may they be just or not. War can give people there freedom. Many countries have achieved independence from other nations through warfare. It would make more sense for these countries to meet and be diplomatic about the situation but often times things come down to who has a stronger military. But now i believe it is unacceptable to wage war on a whim and now most modern wars are pointless and are used for a governments own selfish purposes. For example the iraq war is in my eyes not a war on terrorism but a fight for oil and so most wars now cannot justify their violence.
I believe that war is never justified. There should never even reach a point that two places have come to that big of a disagreement. War captures attention and many people die for no reason. I disagree with samantha when she says the only time you should go to war is if your attacked severly because when you go to attack them wouldn't they come back to attack you? There should be other ways to finalize a disagreement.
I agree with Samantha and John because war is only justified if you are attacked need to defend your country. However, there are plenty of other ways to solve problems and not go to war. I believe that war can solve certain problems, but there is always an alternative to war. War should be a last resort because you can't bring back the lives that are lost during war.
War is never justified under any circumstance. A lot of times going to war doesn't solve any problems that it was supposed to solve. I agree with Celia that killing people by going to war will not solve any problems or conflicts. A lot of people who end up having to fight in wars do not even know what they are truly fighting for and if that is the case, there is no way that they will solve any problems.
I believe war can never be justified and i agree with all those who feel the same. Even if a country attacks another, it doesn't matter. When you go to war as an act of retaliation, your still carrying out the judgement that war is fought for good; which in my mind is false. War is never good period. Kev Evz
I agree with Luke. War is never justified because all it does is create more violence. All war proves is who is stronger. The more powerful country or side usually wins and then they make an agreement with the losers. Even after this agreement is formed, there is still hatred between the sides and nothing actually gets solved. The problem is usually just delays the dispute for another time. War is just something that gets people killed. They enroll in their army and think it will be cool to use a gun and in reality it’s a frightening matter. Sometimes people who fight don’t have a reason for fighting and like Luke said that won't solve anything if people are just there for kicks.
I believe with everyone who thought that war is never justified. I think this because war doesn't really make others happy nor does it solve the problems in the first place. Sure a country can win by military defense, but that doesn't solve any disagreements between the two sides because now the losing side only has a stronger resentment of them, so that doesn't work. If war never happened, there would be fewer problems and people would live better in a non-destructive community.
I agree with Caleb. War is not justified. Everything can be solved in a peaceful manner through strong communication, such as laws or agreements between nations. Many people don't think about the severe damage of war, which doesn't only affect their opponent, it also affects their own country as a whole. For example, deaths of soldiers, high taxes at home to provide our troops with more money, and segregation between citizens and emigrants. Why let soldiers die and families tear apart? War is avoidable. Communication is a factor, and the key to prevent war. However, because some nations rather use violence as a source of power, this world will never be at peace.
I also disagree with Samantha. If they attack our people, it does not necessarily mean we have to attack their people. But because we do, war is inevitable. It is right for us to defend our country, but why kill the innocent who had nothing to do with the attack? People are human, if a person plans an attack, it doesn't give us the right to attack their people. In the end both sides are just causing INNOCENT people to die. Its wrong to destroy a specific group of people because of the leader's actions.
I agree with Connor in the sense that war can be justified in different circumstances. A lot of the times wars occur when places are trying to gain their freedom from someone. It is usually hard to negotiate with anybody becasue they are the minority. No one would listen to what they want. If the negotiations dont work then the only solution would be war. I disagree with what Monica says about not attacking a country that attacks you. If a country attacks you they already skipped the step of negotiating. You can't not attack because you were attacked once and will probably be attacked again. If you try to negotiate and that fails you will just be attacked and many innocent citizens of your country would die. You would have to go to war with the country that attacks you. War is a terrible thing and should be a last resort, but sometimes it is necessary.
I believe war is justified in certain circumstances. War is only okay when our country is feeling threatened and do not feel safe. I agree with Samantha's opinion, war is only okay when we are being attacked and hurt. Sometimes war is the only way to create peace when the a society is getting attacked. If people are being killed for no reason then war would be justified and okay. Going to war for the sake of power although is not justified and it sometimes creates more chaos then before, it is okay when it is a way to protect the people and the nation from getting seriously hurt or damaged.
I think that war can be justified under certain circumstances. If another country threatens the lives of citizens of another country or kills people in that country then war is the solution. I agree with John, that war is not the only way to solve a conflict between two countries, peace and diplomacy should be the first reaction. No matter the war both countries lose many people and potentially cause a never ending hatred between those countries. Ryan Ver Planck
I disagree with Caleb. I think that war is justified under certain conditions. When we are attacked then that serves as a justification for the war. If a country is attacked then they half to go to war or the will appear as pushovers and other countries will take advantage of them. Also the people in the country need to know that their government is going to do something to avenge their lost countrymen. Examples of the U.S. going to war after being attacked is Pear Harbor in World War II, and September 11 in the war in Afghanistan. Examples of unjustified wars are Vietnam and the war in Iraq.
